Cut The Rope is the hugely popular puzzle game for mobile devices – over 100 million downloads on iOS and millions more on Android.

Now its creators, ZeptoLabs, have launched a free Cut The Rope app in Google Chrome’s Web Store – so Chrome users can play for free :-)

The artwork and game mechanics have been optimized for Chrome and the larger screens of laptops and PCs. In addition, the gameplay speed has been changed to better suit mouse/trackpad cutting instead of using finger swipes – you can further change the speed of the mouse from the app settings.

Cut The Rope for Chrome is available from the Chrome WebStore here – you will need to sign into your Google account to add the app.

You can still play the original HTML5 version of Cut The Rope for free on the latest versions of all major browsers – just visit the website here.

Although designed primarily for IE9 (where there is an extra third level if you pin the game to your taskbar) it works on the following OS/browser combinations:

  • XP – Chrome and Firefox
  • Vista and W7 – IE9, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera
  • OS X – Chrome, Firefox, Safari
